Červenica ( Hungarian Vörösvágás ) is a municipality in eastern Slovakia . It is located in the Košická kotlina basin at the foot of the Slanské vrchy Mountains , about 25 km from Prešov and 30 km from Košice .
The place was first mentioned in writing in 1247. It is known for the former opal shafts in the Dubník municipality . One of the most important television channels in Slovakia is also located near Dubnik.
