Ličartovce (Hungarian Licsérd - until 1907 Licsért ) is a municipality and a town in the east of Slovakia , with a population of 991 (December 31, 2019). It belongs to the Okres Prešov , which is part of the higher Prešovský kraj district .
geography
The municipality is located in the northern part of the Košická kotlina basin , at the foot of the Šarišská vrchovina mountain range . The Svinka River flows through the municipality just before it flows into the Hornád . Ličartovce is 14 kilometers from Prešov and 20 kilometers from Košice .
Administratively, the municipality is divided into parts of Ličartovce and Pri Svinke.
history
The place was first mentioned in 1249. In 1828 it had 68 houses and 517 inhabitants.
