Fulianka (until 1948 Slovak "Fuľanka"; Hungarian Fulyán ) is a municipality in the east of Slovakia with 385 inhabitants (December 31, 2019) in Prešov District , part of the Prešovský kraj , and is the traditional landscape Šariš counted.
geography
The village is located at the transition from the Šarišská vrchovina to the Low Beskids , on both sides of the Sekčov . From the south-west, the mountains around the ruins of the Kapušany Castle protrude into the municipality. The center of the village lies at an altitude of 277 m nm and is 13 kilometers from Prešov .
Neighboring communities are Tulčík in the north, Podhorany in the east, Kapušany in the south and again Tulčík in the west.
history
Fulianka was mentioned in writing for the first time in 1410 as Fwlyan and belonged to the estate of the Kapušany Castle. In 1427 nine porta were recorded in a tax register. Until the 16th century, life was determined by mayor law. In 1828 there were 56 houses and 421 inhabitants.
Until 1918, the place in Sharosh County belonged to the Kingdom of Hungary and then came to Czechoslovakia or now Slovakia.

According to the 2011 census, Fulianka had 388 residents, 373 of whom were Slovaks and two Russians . 13 residents did not provide any information on ethnicity .
188 residents professed to the Roman Catholic Church, 171 residents to the Greek Catholic Church and one resident each to the Evangelical Church AB and one to the Orthodox Church. 9 residents had no denomination and the denomination of 18 residents was not determined.
