Lemešany (Hungarian: Lemes ) is a municipality in northeast Slovakia near the D1 ( E 50 ) motorway , which connects Prešov with Košice. The place is located in the valley of the Torysa River .
In terms of administration, it is subdivided into the Chabžany district in addition to the actual location ; this was incorporated in 1965.
history
The place was first mentioned in writing as Lemes in 1289 . In the 19th and 20th centuries, the place was the seat of a district administration in the Hungarian county of Sáros .
