The Sekčov (Hungarian Szekcső ) is a 44 km long river in eastern Slovakia , in the traditional Šariš landscape and a left tributary of the Torysa .

The river has its source in the Čergov Mountains on the slope of the Bukový vrch ( 1019  m nm ) west of the Hertník village . For the first few kilometers it flows through a furrow in the Ondavská vrchovina mountains to the east and turns east of Hertník to the south. Between Raslavice and Demjata the river meanders through a breakthrough in the mountains and after a semicircle around the Kapušany castle hill near the village of the same name , it turns to the southwest and now flows in the Košická kotlina basin . The river meanders between Kapušany and Prešov before entering the urban area and separating the town of Prešov from the eastern districts such as Solivar and the municipality of Ľubotice . The Sekčov flows into the Torysa south of the city center.
