Submandibular duct

The submandibular duct ( Wharton's duct ) is the duct of the mandibular salivary gland ( submandibular gland ). It leads on both sides from the mandibular salivary gland through the sulcus lateralis linguae between the musculus mylohyoideus , musculus hyoglossus and between the glandula sublingualis and the musculus genioglossus and ends on the caruncula sublingualis next to the frenulum .
