The Dufayel Island ( French Île Dufayel ) is an island in the archipelago of the South Shetland Islands . It is located near the center of the Ezcurra Fjord on King George Island .
Participants in the Fifth French Antarctic Expedition (1908–1910) led by polar explorer Jean-Baptiste Charcot mapped the island in December 1909. Charcot named it after the French entrepreneur Georges Jules Dufayel (1855–1916), who furnished the ship on the expedition with furniture would have.
