Dun Grianan in Loch Mealt

Dun Grianan (also called Dun Greanan ) is located at the end of a low headland on the north bank of Loch Mealt on the Scottish island of Skye in the Council Area Highland .

It is a largely removed brochure , the outline of which can be traced over a larger part of the circumference. In the northwest and northeast quadrants, the rest is visible up to 0.9 m in height or hidden under rubble. On the south half, the building is reduced to the foundation structure on the outside over a short distance. The inner surface of the wall stands up to a height of 1.2 m, most of which has recently been reconstructed. The inside diameter of the broch, which appears to be almost a real circle, is about 12 m and the wall is 3.0 to 3.3 m thick. An approximately 0.7 m wide gallery in the wall is visible along the entire length of the northwest sector. There also seem to be traces of a gallery in the wall along the south arch. On the east side of the dun, in the direction of the lake, there are indications of the southern part of an access passage.
