Loch Mealt is a lake on the Scottish Hebridean island of Skye . It is located in the northeast of the island on the Trotternish peninsula near the coast of the Scottish Sea . The hamlet of Ellishadder is located near its north bank . Uig is eleven kilometers to the west.
The A855 ( Portree- Uig) is led with a dam over the lake, which cuts off the easternmost section of Loch Mealt. From there a short stream flows off, which flows as a waterfall over the cliffs into the Scottish Sea. On a headland on the north bank is the Dun Grianan , a brochure probably from the Iron Age .
