Dun Grugaig is a gelatinous dun 23 m long and varying in width from about 8.0 to 11.8 m. It is located on a narrow, threatened by erosion headland in Glasnakille in Elgol on the coast of the island of Skye in the Highlands in Scotland . It is not to be confused with Dun Grugaig on the mainland.

On the land side in the north-west of the Dun, which is positioned like a Promontory Fort , there is an approximately 4.5 m thick stone wall with a residual height of over 4.0 m above the inner level and 2.3 m above the outside. The wall on the other sides was apparently only about five feet thick. Its inside and part of the south-western side have been completely destroyed.

The access in the center of the northwest wall is almost complete with falls in situ . The outer part of the corridor is drawn in and narrower than the very broad inner one. The hallway has a door stop and beam holes. Part of a gallery has been preserved over a length of over 2.0 m above the entrance and was apparently longer on both sides. To the north of the inside an opening leads to the first three steps of a dismantled staircase that led to the upper gallery or to the wall. The gallery wall is partly 1.8 m high and 1.4 m thick. The gallery was provided with an opening that led into the inside of the wall.

Some stones of the dun are of considerable size, one of the corner stones on the outside being over three feet long. The outer lintel is also a big rock.
