In 1998 the company was founded by parent company Dundee Corporation. The aim was to establish a subsidiary that pursues long-term investment strategies in order to offer special financial services. Further acquisitions followed in 1998. In December 1998 Deacon Capital Corp. and in May 1999 Infinity Funds Management Inc., followed in August 1999 by the takeover of the third-party investment dealer and mutual fund dealer. This gave the company a greater number of customer funds and investors. In December 1999, Peelbrooke Capital Inc. was taken over. In August 2002, Ross Dixon Financial Services Ltd. was taken over. and Hewmac Investment Services Inc. took over 200 employees and assets of $ 2.1 billion. In October 2002, DynamicNova Inc. was taken over. In June 2007, DF Investments SA Luxembourg was founded. In July 2008, the American company BHR Fund Advisors LP was taken over. In the same period, Aurion Capital Management Inc. was taken over. In 2011, DundeeWealth was taken over by Scotiabank .
