The Dundee High School Former Pupils Rugby Football Club is a rugby union -Verein which in the Scottish National League Division One play. The home games are played in the Mayfield Playing Fields in Dundee .

history

The association was founded in 1880. The first place he played was a farmer's field that could only be used if it was not tilled. Soon afterwards, the venue was frequently changed until the club was made permanently available by the rector of the university.

In the 1930s, the club produced its first international: George Ritchie played for Scotland against England in 1932 . In the 1960s you took part in regional selections that competed against other Scottish but also foreign teams.

In 1973 official league operations began in Scotland. Dundee was initially placed in the fourth division. Two years later they played for the first time at Mayfield. In 1980 it celebrated its centenary with a game against an international team, which also included former players of the club. In the same year the players traveled to Denmark and Sweden to play against regional selections there. At the end of the 1980s, Dundee was now in the second division, ten years earlier they were still in the sixth division.

The 1990s saw the club continue to rise successfully. 1992 one rose for the first time in the highest league. In the same year the club traveled to New Zealand , at the same time the first tour of a British club through the country. In the following seasons you fluctuated between first and second division. With the professionalization of sport in 1995, the club lost numerous players to other clubs. In the following Dundee rose to the third division. One returned in the 2000s, however, back to the top division.
