The Dutra DR-50 was an all-wheel drive dump truck made by the Hungarian manufacturer "Traktorwerk Roter Stern" (Vörös Csillag Traktorgyár). The Red Star tractor factory emerged from the Budapest branch of the English-Austrian-Hungarian court lord Schrantz-Clayton Shuttleworth AG , which was nationalized in 1948 .

The DR-50 dump truck was built between 1956 and 1966 and sold by the Hungarian foreign trade company Mogürt mainly in the area of the Council for Mutual Economic Aid (Comecon). The vehicle was equipped with the Csepel D413 diesel engine, which was a license replica of the Steyr D413 . The power from the engine was routed via the gearbox to the rear axle bridge and the rear wheels via a two-disc dry clutch. The DR-50 was developed on the basis of the chassis of a wheel tractor. It had a steering column with two parallel steering wheels and two interconnected sets of foot levers, and the seat could be swiveled sideways. This should make turning the vehicle unnecessary because the driver could easily change his own position. The trough had a volume of 3.5 m³ and was emptied by gravity after the lock was released. The trough was locked again by starting briefly and braking sharply, causing the trough to snap into transport position. The possible payload could be 6 t.

A further development was the type DR-50C, which was equipped with a hydraulic lifting device on the body to facilitate complete emptying. In 1961 the dumper received a weatherproof driver's cab with the version DR-50D, which however made it necessary to dispense with the second steering wheel and a set of foot levers.

In 1966 the G-116 tipper was developed based on the DR-50.
