history

Steyr tractor from 1957
Basic model of the Plus series: Steyr 30

In the Steyr works , operating under the name of the Österreichische Waffenfabriksgesellschaft until 1926 , weapons were initially manufactured, later bicycles (" Waffenrad ") and automobiles (" Waffen-Auto "). The first tractors were produced from 1947. Steyr and Austro-Daimler - Puchwerke AG merged in 1934 to form Steyr-Daimler-Puch AG .

From 1988 to 1992 tractors were delivered to Marshall, Sons & Co. in Great Britain, who then sold them under their own brand name.

The tractor division was spun off from Steyr-Daimler-Puch in 1990 as Steyr Landmaschinen AG and taken over by Case Corporation in 1996 . Case was merged by Fiat with New Holland in 1999 to form CNH Global , with Steyr being retained as the brand for the tractors.

In 2007 the logo was changed in such a way that the crosshairs, which still reminded of the weapons production, were removed.

A total of over 500,000 tractors have already left the assembly line.

15er-Steyr

15er (type 80a) from 1955

The "15er-Steyr", which can still be seen in Austria today, is very popular among experts and collectors. In the narrower sense, it is the type 80 of the 13 series, which has an output of 13, later 15 hp . This single-cylinder tractor was built 45,068 times up to 1964, mostly for smaller farms. In a broader sense, this means all older small tractors from Steyr that have this characteristic look.
