The Steyr 650 is a tractor from the Steyr Plus series from Steyr Daimler Puch . It was built from 1971 to 1977.

In 1971, the existing Plus series with the types Steyr 30 , Steyr 40 , Steyr 50 , Steyr 70 and Steyr 90 was converted to three-digit type designations for marketing reasons and at the same time some changes were made, some of which also affected the performance. The new Steyr 650 therefore replaced the Steyr 50 with a slightly smaller engine and a lower exhaust.

The water-cooled diesel engine of the type WD 408.81 with four cylinders and 3.140 l displacement had an output of around 37 kW (50 hp). The transmission had 16 forward gears and eight reverse gears, on request also up to 16 forward gears and 16 reverse gears. The maximum speed was given as 30 km / h.

The tractor was available as the Steyr 650 in the rear-wheel version and as the Steyr 650 a in an all-wheel version. A cabin was available on request.

The body was designed by the French industrial designer Louis Lucien Lepoix .
