The Steyr 90 tractor ( Steyr 90 a with all-wheel drive) from the Steyr Plus series by Steyr Daimler Puch was built from 1968 to 1970.

In 1966, the existing anniversary series with an orange round engine hood was gradually replaced by the new Plus series, with the Steyr 90 of this series advancing into new performance areas in 1968. The water-cooled diesel engine of the type WD 610 t with six cylinders and 5,975 l capacity had a power of about 66 kW (90 hp). The transmission from ZF Friedrichshafen had twelve forward gears and six reverse gears, on request also up to 16 forward gears and eight reverse gears. The maximum speed was given as 27 km / h.

The tractor was available as the Steyr 90 in the rear-wheel version and as the Steyr 90 a in an all-wheel version. A cabin was available on request. A total of around 1100 copies of the Steyr 90 and Steyr 1090 with and without all-wheel drive were sold.

The body was designed by the French industrial designer Louis Lucien Lepoix .

The tractor was replaced in 1971 by the Steyr 1090 , which differed little apart from the type designation.
