CNH Global was a public company for agricultural machinery and equipment , consisting of the companies Case and New Holland was born. CNH Global later merged with the majority owner Fiat Industrial to form CNH Industrial .

CNH was the second largest producer of agricultural machinery in the world after Deere & Company . CNH Global's more than 30,000 employees achieved sales of US $ 19.4 billion in 2012 .

The three brands Case IH , New Holland and Steyr , which were merged in the Agricultural Equipment division , belonged to the group . The construction machines were sold under the Case and New Holland Construction brands.

history

In November 1999, New Holland NV bought Case Corporation and renamed itself CNH Global NV. The European Union agreed because several business areas , factories and series , mostly from Case, were sold to competitors. Among the conditions imposed by the merger control belonged to the sale of the brand McCormick and the plant in Doncaster (GB) attached to the Argo went group of Italian Morra family, as well as the divisions Versatile (to the Canadian Buhler Industries ) and Fermec (to the US American Terex ). In Austria, CNH brought about an expansion of exports.

Group structure

CNH Global was a company incorporated under Dutch law and traded on the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE). The company prepared its business accounts on a quarterly basis in accordance with US GAAP . In 2002, CNH began investing in Kobelco Construction Machinery from Kobe Steel , which ended in 2012. Kobelco develops and produces hydraulic excavators , which CNH was allowed to market exclusively outside of Asia and Australia and which some manufacture under license .

As of December 31, 2012, CNH had 37 production facilities worldwide and a sales network of approximately 11,500 full-range dealers and agents in around 170 countries.

Since 2006, the European headquarters of the Case IH and Steyr brands have had their headquarters in St. Valentin (Lower Austria) , where Steyr already had a production facility before the merger.

Brands

CNH sells its products worldwide through the two brand families Case and New Holland. Case IH (together with Steyr in Europe) and New Holland form the family of brands for agricultural machinery, Case CE and New Holland Construction (together with Kobelco in North America) the family of brands for construction machinery. Each brand offered its own spare parts and after-sales service.

The brands Braud , Claeys , Poclain , Fiatagri , Flexicoil , Fordson , International Harvester and O&K , which are not currently sold, also belonged to CNH Global .

CNH Financial Services provided financing services to dealers and customers in North America, Australia, Brazil and Western Europe. The end customer financing takes place in Western Europe through a joint venture with the BNP Paribas Lease Group.
