The Steyr 1400 tractor is a model of the Steyr Plus series by Steyr Daimler Puch , which was built between 1974 and 1976.

In 1974 the existing Plus series was supplemented with the Steyr 1400, which was only available in the all-wheel drive version, in the upper performance range, where it was Steyr's most powerful tractor until 1976. The water-cooled turbo diesel engine of the type WD 612.85 with six cylinders and 6.592 l displacement had an output of around 103 kW (140 PS). The transmission had twelve forward gears and four reverse gears, but also up to 36 forward gears and twelve reverse gears on request. The maximum speed was given as 32 km / h.

Visually, the tractor was very similar to the later models 8140 and 8160.

800 of the Steyr 1400 were sold.
