The tractor Steyr 1108 ( 1108 a with all-wheel drive) from the Steyr Plus series by Steyr Daimler Puch was built between 1977 and 1979.

In 1977, the existing Plus series was supplemented with the Steyr 1108 in the upper power range, thereby replacing the Steyr 1100, which was seven hp weaker. The water-cooled diesel engine of the WD 610.44 type with six cylinders and 5.975 l displacement had an output of around 77 kW (105 PS). The transmission had twelve forward gears and six reverse gears, but also 16 forward gears and eight reverse gears on request. The maximum speed was given as 29 km / h.

The Steyr 1108 was available with rear-wheel drive and optionally with all-wheel drive as the Steyr 1108 a. The cabin was also only available on request.

The body was designed by the French industrial designer Louis Lucien Lepoix .

355 of the 1100 and 1108 with rear-wheel drive and 524 of the 1100 a and 1108 a with all-wheel drive were sold.
