The Verlag Moderne Industrie (Eigenenschreibung verlag moderne industrie ) is a specialist publisher with publications, internet portals, congresses and seminars, mainly for managers and engineers in German industry. history
The modern industry publishing house was founded in 1952 by the business journalists Wolfgang Dummer and Norbert Müller in Munich as a book publisher. In 1962, the company founded the specialist journal Produktion , which was followed in the decades that followed by other specialist publications from the fields of manufacturing, metalworking and industrial engineering.
At the Hanover location, the company operates the Industryleads order information service with six employees .
In 1993 the Süddeutsche Verlag took over all shares in the Verlag modern industry. In 2004 and 2005, the book and loose-leaf business was sold to sister company publishing group Hüthig Jehle Rehm and to the Munich publishing group . The book and magazine delivery was also sold to Rhenus Medien Logistik in 2005. Since then, the company's core business has been the specialist magazine business.
Shareholder
The company is a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Süddeutscher Verlag Hüthig Fachinformationen and thus belongs to the Süddeutscher Verlag and Südwestdeutsche Medien Holding .

The company's two publications with the highest sales are the specialist journal Produktion and the specialist journal Arzt & Wirtschaft.
