Dyer Island is an uninhabited, rocky island in the Indian Ocean , half a mile from Rottnest Island and 17.2 kilometers from Fremantle . Dyer Island is part of the Australian state of Western Australia . In the north of the island, which is less than 200 meters long, there is a 20-meter-long sandy beach, on which sea lions often sunbathe.
