Dyna Fyr
... on a tiny island in the Oslofjord

Dyna Fyr is a former beacon and a striking landmark in the Oslofjord . It is located about 300 meters south-east of the Bygdøy peninsula opposite the island of Nakkholmen, about three kilometers from the city port of Oslo, directly on the fairway .

In 1873 the port administration of the then city of Christiania began with the continuous lighting of the Oslofjord and thus the access to the port of Oslo. The beacon on Dyna, a tiny spar , was erected in 1874. At first it was equipped with a simple white kerosene fire and a storm bell. In 1928 the fire was electrified and the bell was replaced by a fog horn ; The fire has been automated since 1956 and no lighthouse keepers live on the stile. The buildings were initially used privately and have served as a restaurant and exclusive event location since 1992.
