Dynasty Cup (golf)

The Dynasty Cup was a team competition founded in 2003 between professional male golfers from Japan and the rest of Asia based on the mode of the famous Ryder Cup . It was held in 2003 and 2005.

history

The first encounter (official name: Phoenix Dynasty Cup Presented by VISA ) took place from March 14th to 16th, 2003 at Mission Hills Golf Club in China and ended with a 16½: 7½ victory for Asia.

At the same place, from April 15 to 17, 2005, and under the name Visa Dynasty Cup , there was the second event, which the Asian team was able to win again (result 14½: 9½).

mode

The two teams consisted of twelve players each and a captain ( non-playing captain ). The competition lasted three days. There were six fourballs on the first day (Friday), six foursomes on the second day and the twelve individual matches on the final Sunday. In the event of a tie, the cup remained with the title holder.
