Olfactory disorder

Smell disorder or dysosmia is the generic term for various disorders of olfactory perception . Smell disorders caused by damage to higher processing centers are referred to as central dysosmia .

Quantitative odor disorders

  • Anosmia , the complete loss of smell
  • Hyposmia , a decreased sense of smell
  • Hyperosmia , an oversensitivity to olfactory stimuli
