Dzieduszycki is an important Polish noble family.
history
The family crest is Sas. At the end of the 18th century the dynasty was raised to the rank of count.
Members of the family were temporarily represented in the Herrenhaus , the upper house of the Austrian Imperial Council.
Important representatives of the family were:
- Maurycy Dzieduszycki (1813–1877), historian
- Józef Kalasanty Dzieduszycki (1772–1847), bibliophile collector, co-founder of the savings bank in Lemberg
- Włodzimierz Dzieduszycki (1825–1899), politician and patron of the arts, son of Józef Kalasanty D.
A recent representative is Matt Dzieduszycki (* 1980), a Canadian ice hockey player.
Possessions
The family owned extensive estates in Galicia. One of the seats was the Dzieduszycki Castle in Zarzecze in the Przeworski powiat in the Subcarpathian Voivodeship .
