EMG (Ellen, Manfred and the Gospelband) were a gospel rock group founded in Ludwigshafen in 1980, which disbanded in 1994.

The group's music is a synthesis of gospel, rock, blues, funk and songwriting influences.

The themes of the songs were a. Peace, Justice and the Integrity of Creation. But also interpersonal alienation, emotional impoverishment, loneliness of old people, abuse of children, as well as the hopelessness of impoverished people or prisoners was discussed. People's longing for love, security and meaning in life also played a major role. Finally, some songs are about the dangers of substance abuse.
