The Chainat Hornbill Football Club ( Thaiสโมสร ฟุตบอล ชัยนาท ฮ อ ร์ น บิล ), Chainat FC or Chainat Hornbill for short , is a Thai football club from the Chainat province . From 2020 the club will play in the second highest Thai soccer league, the Thai League 2 .
The club was founded in 2009 and started in Thai Division 2. After the promotion to third place was just missed in the first season, the jump to Thai Division 1 succeeded a year later in the 2010 season. Successful in the following season even the march into the first Thai league . After four years of membership in the first division, they were relegated to the second division again in 2016. In the same year, the club recorded its greatest success with reaching the final of the Thai FA Cup . After King Bhumibol Adulyadej's death, the Thai Football Association canceled the remaining games and the four semi-finalists were named co-winners. After a year in the second division, the champions of the second division were finally promoted back to the first division. The 2018 season ended in thirteenth and thus secured relegation.

Chainat Hornbill FC plays its home games at the Khao Plong Stadium (Thai: เขา พ ลอง ส เต เดี้ย เดี้ย) in Chai Nat , which is in the chainat province of the same name . By 2011 the stadium had 5,574 seats. After the expansion, there is now space for up to 12,000 spectators. The stadium is operated by the owner Chai Nat Provincial Administration Organization .
