Surachai Jaturapattarapong ( Thai : สุร ชัย จตุร ภัทร พง ษ์ , born November 20, 1969 in Bangkok ) is a former Thai football player and current coach . Since June 2009 he has been coaching FC Bangkok Glass .
Player career
From 1991 to 1996 Surachai played for the club FC Thai Farmers Bank . It was the most successful era of his playing career. He won a total of three championship titles with the club and the AFC Champions League in 1994 and 1995 . In 1998 he changed clubs and went to Bangkok Metropolitan Administration FC where he played until the end of 2000. He then moved to Singapore in the S. League for Gombak United . The club withdrew from the league in 2002 and Surachai went to Home United . There he played until 2005, before he ended his active club career.
He started his career in the national team in Thailand's U-14. About the U-16 and U-19 he made it to the seniors, where he played his first game in 1991. In the final of the 2001 ASEAN football championship , Surachai made his last game for the national team. On February 23, 2005 he got a farewell game from the Thai Football Association . In this game, a Thai Allstar selection came up against his last club Home United . The game was televised nationwide. The entire revenue from the game, a total of 1.2 million Baht , went to Surachai.
With the Thai national team, he won gold four times at the Southeast Asian Games , and won the ASEAN football championship three times in a row . He participated in the Asian Football Championship in 1992, 1996 and 2000 .
Coaching career
After ending his active football career in 2005, he became an assistant coach at Home United. In June 2009 he became head coach of FC Bangkok Glass , succeeding Hans Emser , who has been the technical director of the youth performance center since then. He held this office until June 2010, when he was replaced by the Brazilian Carlos Roberto de Carvalho.
