European Association of Labor Economists

The European Association of Labor Economists (EALE) is a European association of economists for scientific exchange based at Maastricht University .

The organization was founded in 1989. The organization serves the scientific exchange between European economists with a focus on labor market research. It is made up of both individual and institutional members from currently 25 countries ( as of November 2010 ).

According to the statutes, the organization is led by an executive committee, the president of which is also the president. The committee consists of at least the president and twelve elected members, up to five additional members can be added to maintain the tasks. The committee is responsible for the alignment of the organization with regard to the compliance with the tasks - in particular the maintenance of the international exchange - of the organization. The official publication organ Labor Economics is published by the science publisher Elsevier .

The organization supports the German Institute for the Future of Work in the annual implementation of the IZA European Summer School in Labor Economics .
