The EDU.CON Hochschule Berlin was a private, state-recognized university of applied sciences in Berlin . It was founded in 2008 under the name asa University of Light and Design . In October 2008, EDU.CON Holding took over responsibility for the university and then renamed it. The founder, managing director and owner of the holding was Carina Appelt, former head of advanced training at the Chamber of Technology . In November 2010, Berlin's Senator for Science, Jürgen Zöllner, revoked the state recognition of the EDU.CON University of Applied Sciences Berlin and thus for the first time a private university. H. EDU.CON is no longer allowed to call itself a university or to hold exams.

courses

Starting in the summer semester of 2010, the lighting design and set design courses were offered, which should be completed with the academic degree Bachelor of Arts . The six-semester course was divided into a joint basic course over two semesters, which was to be deepened in the subsequent four-semester specialist course of the respective course. From the 2011 winter semester, further bachelor's degree programs were planned.
