EFIS-Schering-Plow European Immunology Prize

The EFIS-Schering-Plow European Immunology Prize was a science award, in 2006 and 2009 by the European Federation of immune sciences ( European Federation of Immunological Societies was awarded EFIS) for significant discoveries in the field of immune research.

The prize was endowed with 50,000 euros. The EFIS comprises 27 national professional societies with a total of 13,000 members.

Award winners

• 2006: Alberto Mantovani , University of Milan
• 2009: Michael Reth , University of Freiburg for his work on the elucidation of the activation processes of immune cells .
