The EN 60601-2-30 titled "Electrical Medical devices - Part 2-30: Particular requirements for the safety, including essential performance, of automatic cycling non-invasive blood pressure monitoring devices" is part of the series of standards EN 60601 .

The DIN standard DIN EN 60601-2-30 is published by the German Institute for Standardization .

The standard is based on the international version IEC 60601-2-30. Within the framework of the VDE standards, the standard is classified as VDE 0750-2-30 , see DIN-VDE standards part 7 .

This supplementary standard regulates general specifications for the safety, tests, guidelines and the essential performance characteristics of automatic, cyclical, non-invasive blood pressure monitors .

Valid in Germany

The German edition 12.2000 has been accepted as a German standard from the date of its publication .

  • The current version (12.2000) is to be used in accordance with the 2nd edition of DIN EN 60601-1 .
  • In April 2008 an EN draft for use with the 3rd edition of DIN EN 60601-1 was published.
  • In May 2011 this draft was re-published as the DIN EN 80601-2-30 standard.

scope of application

This standard specifies particular requirements for the safety, including essential performance, for automatic, cyclic, non-invasive blood pressure monitors. The device may or may not be supervised.

These special stipulations do not apply to blood pressure measuring devices with finger sensors or semi-automatic blood pressure measuring devices, where each measurement usually has to be triggered manually.
