The EN 60601-2-19 titled "Electrical Medical devices - Part 2-19: Particular requirements for the safety of baby incubators" is part of the series of standards EN 60601 .

The DIN standard DIN EN 60601-2-19 is published by the German Institute for Standardization .

The standard is based on the international version IEC 60601-2-19. Within the framework of the VDE standards, the standard is classified as VDE 0750-2-19 , see DIN-VDE standards part 7 .

This supplementary standard regulates general requirements for the safety, tests and guidelines of infant incubators .

validity

The German edition of 1.1998 has been adopted as a German standard from 6.1999 .

  • The current version (1.1998) is to be used in accordance with the 2nd edition of DIN EN 60601-1 .
  • In August 2007 a draft for use with the 3rd edition of DIN EN 60601-1 was published.

scope of application

These special stipulations establish safety requirements for incubators. This standard does not apply to transport incubators used to transport babies (see EN 60601-2-20 ).
