The EN 60601-2-7 entitled "Electrical Medical devices - Part 2-7: Particular requirements for the safety of high-voltage generators of diagnostic X-ray generators" is part of the series of standards EN 60601 .

The German Institute for Standardization is the publisher of the DIN standard DIN EN 60601-2-7 .

The standard is based on the international version IEC 60601-2-7. Within the framework of the VDE standards, the standard is classified as VDE 0750-2-7 , see DIN-VDE standards part 7 .

This supplementary standard regulates general requirements for the safety, tests and guidelines of diagnostic X-ray generators.

The German edition 4.2001 is accepted as a German standard from the date of its publication .

  • The current version (3.2000) is to be used in accordance with the 2nd edition of DIN EN 60601-1.
  • No draft has yet been published for the 3rd edition of DIN EN 60601-1.

scope of application

These special specifications apply to x-ray generators of x-ray generators for medical diagnostics as well as to their assemblies including the following versions:

  • X-ray generators that contain an X-ray source,
  • X-ray generators of radiation therapy simulators.

If necessary, requirements for X-ray generators are given, but only to the extent that they concern the function of the associated X-ray generator.
