The EN 60601-2-7 entitled "Electrical Medical devices - Part 2-7: Particular requirements for the safety of high-voltage generators of diagnostic X-ray generators" is part of the series of standards EN 60601 .
The German Institute for Standardization is the publisher of the DIN standard DIN EN 60601-2-7 .
The standard is based on the international version IEC 60601-2-7. Within the framework of the VDE standards, the standard is classified as VDE 0750-2-7 , see DIN-VDE standards part 7 .
This supplementary standard regulates general requirements for the safety, tests and guidelines of diagnostic X-ray generators.
validity
The German edition 4.2001 is accepted as a German standard from the date of its publication .
- The current version (3.2000) is to be used in accordance with the 2nd edition of DIN EN 60601-1.
- No draft has yet been published for the 3rd edition of DIN EN 60601-1.
scope of application
These special specifications apply to x-ray generators of x-ray generators for medical diagnostics as well as to their assemblies including the following versions:
- X-ray generators that contain an X-ray source,
- X-ray generators of radiation therapy simulators.
If necessary, requirements for X-ray generators are given, but only to the extent that they concern the function of the associated X-ray generator.
This standard does not apply to
- Capacitor generators (these are dealt with in EN 60601-2-15 )
- X-ray generators for mammography
- X-ray generators for reconstructive tomography
extra information
The following changed requirements are contained in EN 60601-2-7 (extract):
- Protection from excessive radiation
- Accuracy of the operating data
- Protection against dangerous initial values
