EPA (from Einheitspreis AG, French UNIP ) was a Swiss discount department store that opened in 1930 and was located in the cheap segment. From 1933 to 1945 it was affected by the branch ban.

It later changed its name to EPA Neue Warenhaus AG . In the 1990s, the EPA broadcast commercials starring the actor Martin Schenkel .

In 2001 EPA was sold by Oscar Weber Holding to the Buhofer family. On April 16, 2002, 40 percent of the share capital was taken over by Coop retrospectively as of February 1, 2002 . By the beginning of 2005, all 39 existing EPA branches were either converted into branches of the Coop City department store chain or closed.
