EU bookshop

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The EU Bookshop is a multilingual online service of the European Union that provides access to publications by the EU institutions, bodies and other bodies. The EU Bookshop is located at the Publications Office of the European Union .

The EU has set itself the goal of making the EU Bookshop the most important reference point for publications by the European Union. The website is currently available in 22 languages.

You can search for and order EU publications via the EU Bookshop. Electronic publications can be downloaded as a PDF file. Publications in paper form will be delivered by post in around three to four days after giving your name and address.

The online catalog of the EU Bookshop only contains titles from 2005 onwards. Older publications can be found in the archive. The archive is still under construction and therefore does not yet contain all older publications.

In addition, the EU Bookshop sends out some brochures, books and information sheets free of charge, provided they are available, so that you can find out more about the European Union. Publications that are subject to a fee can be found directly on the homepage of the EU Bookshop.

Services

In the EU Bookshop you can search for published titles by subject (category), by keywords or by the author. Once you have found a title, you can put it on your "watch list" or directly in the shopping cart. To personalize the search, it is possible to log in to "My EU Bookshop". Among other things, you then have the option of saving your search steps for regular use or of being informed about new publications by e-mail.

Since the EU Bookshop went live in March 2005, more than 400,000 PDF files have been downloaded and nearly 70,000 paper copies have been delivered to users. After a year of operation, the number of titles available has increased by 75%.

In 2007, publications that were more than 50 years old can be found among around 49,000 notices - the EU Bookshop is a valuable source of EU-relevant information.
