Brown FK

Braun FK (E 154) is a yellowish-brown mixture of six different azo dyes that was used to color smoked herrings. In animal experiments, damage to the heart and liver was found. Many organs are discolored by a metabolic product from Braun FK. Braun FK can cause allergies . In the EU, Braun FK is no longer approved as a food coloring.
