The Earl of Dudley's Railway or Pensnett Railway was a 40 mile long railway network around John William Wards, 1st Earl of Dudley's ironworks in Round Oak near Brierley Hill .

history

The Agenoria steam locomotive was delivered to the Earl of Dudley's Railway in 1829 to transport coal from the pits at Pensnett to a basin on the Staffordshire and Worcestershire Canal at Ashwood . From 1928 to 1939 there was also passenger traffic to the celebrations in Himley Park . A short section of track is still visible at the Round Oak Rail Terminal today, but the steel mill and pits were demolished. The track bed was converted into footpaths in places and has completely disappeared elsewhere.
