Ebisu Muscats (Japanese 恵 比 寿 マ ス カ ッ ツ, Ebisu Masukattsu ) is a Japanese girl group of J-Pop . The group consists exclusively of models from the erotic industry ( AV Idols and Gravure Idols ). The group has been in a changing line-up and with slightly different names since 2008 and has released several albums, including the top 10 hit 卒業 ア ル バ ム in 2013. Prominent and long-time members of the group include Sola Aoi , Yuma Asami and Tina Yuzuki .

history

The group was selected in April 2008 for appearances on the television show Onegai! Muscat (Japanese お ね が い マ ス カ ッ ト) founded at TV Tokyo . There was no fixed line-up for the group, which usually consisted of around 20-30 girls, instead the line-up changed frequently. The group is an example of the marketing mechanisms of Japanese pornography , in which the actresses act both in hardcore productions, but also in mainstream TV, in computer games or in the music market. The appearance of the group with largely homogeneous-looking participants, who essentially only differ in the color design of the uniform-like stage outfit, is a common form of presentation for Japanese idol groups.

One girl took on a special role as a leader within the group. The first manager in 2008 was Sola Aoi , who at that time could already look back on a multi-year erotic career. She was followed by Yuma Asami and after her severe cancer with Aino Kishi, other already successful models who, in addition to their modeling activities, had already gained popularity with J-Pop publications or with roles in video games.

In 2010 the group released their first single Banana Mango Highschool (Japanese ナ ナ ・ マ ン ゴ ー ・ ハ イ ス ク ー ル) and then in rapid succession by 2013 eight more singles and two albums. As of 2010, the group also performed live. In mid-2012 the group had 29 active and 45 former members.

In spring 2013 Ebisu Muscats completed a farewell tour, after which the group disbanded for the time being. The simultaneously released album 卒業 ア ル バ ム reached the top 10 of the Japanese charts.

The group was reactivated in September 2015. To distinguish it from the previous line-ups, the spelling was changed and an asterisk was added to the group name: Ebisu ★ Muscats . The leader was Kirara Asuka , who at that time could already look back on a media career of several years. The group released a single in 2015 and 2016.

The better-known founding members of the second generation included u. a. Tsukasa Aoi and Iori Kogawa , to those who came later a. a. Yua Mikami . Once again, the members have already started erotic careers and in many cases have already appeared in computer games or in the music business.

With Sola Aoi, Yuma Asami and Rio (Tina Yuzuki) as outstanding PTA members , the renewed group also included three prominent members of the older line-up. Asami is a founding member and even performed with the Ebisu Muscats during her severe cancer in 2013. She announced her retirement from the porn business in May 2015, but wants to continue working as an actress and singer. Tina Yuzuki has now also announced her withdrawal from hardcore pornography.

In 2017 the group name was changed to Ebisu Muscats 1.5 and another album was released.
