Ecco: The Tides of Time is an action-adventure - video game , which of Novotrade International (now Appaloosa Interactive developed) and Sega in 1994 for the Sega Genesis , the Sega CD , the Sega Master System and Sega Game Gear published has been. The game was later released for Nintendo's Virtual Console , OnLive and Steam . It is the successor to Ecco the Dolphin and the second part of the Ecco-the-Dolphin series .

successor
A sequel to Ecco: The Tides of Time was planned to end the series as a trilogy . However, development of the game was discontinued and Sega instead released a spin-off titled Ecco Jr. The main series was only continued a few years later with a completely different plot with the game Ecco the Dolphin: Defender of the Future for the Dreamcast .
