The Ecidemon is a mythical beast in medieval Germany.

According to Wolframs von Eschenbach Parzival , it is a small animal that kills all poisonous snakes .

According to Dietrich Huschenbett, a weasel-like crawling cat, the Ichneumon , could hide behind the Ecidemon .
