The Eclipse 400 , originally called the Eclipse Concept Jet (ECJ), is a very light jet from the former US manufacturer Eclipse Aviation .

development

The aircraft was surprisingly presented as an airworthy prototype in 2007 at the Oshkosh Airshow . Since May 2008, the type could be ordered as Eclipse 400 for 1.35 million US dollars . The first deliveries were planned for the fourth quarter of 2011.

In November 2008, however, the manufacturer Eclipse Aviation had to file for bankruptcy protection under Chapter 11 of US bankruptcy law. In March 2009 this became a liquidation procedure , at the end of which the manufacturer was dissolved.

The aircraft is considered a competitor of the single-engine models Cirrus Jet , PiperJet , Epic Victory and Diamond D-Jet . The Eclipse 400 has a Pratt & Whitney Canada PW615F jet engine and a V-shaped tail unit. It offers space for four people.
