Ecological Society of America

The Ecological Society of America ( ESA ) is the representation of American and Canadian ecologists. The organization was officially founded in Columbus , Ohio in 1915 and is now based in Washington, DC President is Scott L. Collins.

The annual meeting of members takes place in the USA or Canada. In addition to science, the fields of work include political influence and environmental education . The organization has over 10,000 members in over 90 countries. ESA published trade journals, newsletters and educational materials. Among other things, it publishes the scientific journal Frontiers in Ecology and the Environment , which is one of the leading journals in the field of ecology and environmental sciences .
