Ecublens (noble family)
The Ecublens were a noble family from Vaud.
The noble family of Ecublens has been documented in the town of the same name in Vaud since the middle of the 12th century . They were probably ministerials to the bishops of Lausanne . The dynasty reached the height of its influence at the end of the 12th and beginning of the 13th century, when they each provided a bishop of Sitten and Lausanne. In the 13th century the family split into two branches. A branch sat in Ecublens VD and had a grave in the church there. The other branch, the Junkers of Ecublens, were citizens of Lutry and had settled in Lausanne . The sex died out at the beginning of the 16th century.
