Edelweißhütte (Glockner Group)

The Edelweißhütte

The Edelweißhütte is a mountain hut at 2571  m on the Edelweißspitze , a peak north of the main ridge in the Hohe Tauern , to which the Edelweißstraße leads. The Edelweißspitze is the highest point of the toll Grossglockner High Alpine Road .

The hut stands northwest below the summit. After the completion of Großglockner Strasse in 1935, it was built by a Lederer family who still own it today. Since the hut was no longer able to cope with the growing stream of tourists in the 1960s, it was demolished in 1967 and rebuilt larger.

In addition to the catering, rooms with shower and toilet are also offered.
