Edificio Juncal

The Edificio Juncal is a building in the Uruguayan capital, Montevideo .

The building, erected between 1936 and 1939 for the Araújo brothers, is located in Ciudad Vieja on Calle Juncal 1414 , adjacent to Paraná and Rincón streets . The building, which was originally called Edificio Araújo , was created based on a design by architects Julio Vilamajó and Pedro Carve . It is designed as a residential apartment, office and commercial building. Business premises are located on the ground floor of the building, which has an underground car park, while Edificio Juncal has two floors of office space. The remaining use consists of apartments for residential purposes.

Since 1989 the building has been classified as the Monumento Histórico Nacional .
