Palacio Montero
The Palacio Montero, also known as Edificio Sorocabana or Palacio Sorocabana , is a building in the Uruguayan capital of Montevideo .
The building, constructed in 1925, is located in the Barrio Centro at Plaza de Cagancha 1356, corner of Avenida 18 de Julio . Engineer Alberto Trigo was responsible for the construction . In its original use it served as a residential apartment and commercial building, and offices are now also housed there. The building used to be the Sorocabana café, which opened in 1939 .
Since 1995 the Palacio Montero has been classified as a Bien de Interés Municipal .
