Edition C (publishing cooperation)

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Edition C was the brand and expression of a cross-publishing cooperation in the Christian book market, which from the end of the 1970s to the 21st century connected various renowned Protestant to Evangelical German publishers who presented particularly high-quality and theologically unifying publications within the series. In detail, the Christian publishing houses Hänssler in Stuttgart, Brendow in Moers, Francke in Marburg an der Lahn as well as Johannis and VLM in Lahr in the Black Forest belonged to the publishing cooperation .

Today, the edition no longer exists due to business structural changes such as the merger of several publishers into one another and the cessation of operations. One classic of the series, however, the multi-volume Bible Commentary by Gerhard Maier , was given the title Edition C in its new edition in May 2007 by the SCM Verlag in honor of the long-standing brand .
