Eduardo Caballero Calderón (born March 6, 1910 in Bogotá , † April 3, 1993 ibid) was a Colombian writer, journalist, diplomat and politician.

Eduardo Caballero Calderón was the son of General Lucas Caballero Barrera and mayor of Tipacoque . From 1938 he used the pseudonym Swann at times . As a Colombian diplomat he worked in Madrid and Paris for a long time. 1962 to 1968 he was Colombian ambassador to UNESCO . He wrote essays and narrative prose, which is characterized by a concise, precise style. The main themes of his work are the constant violence in Colombia, the drug wars and the exploitation of small farmers. He also wrote children's books; his works have been translated into many languages.

Eduardo's younger brother Lucas Caballero Calderón became known as a cartoonist under the pseudonym Klim . His older son Luis Caballero Holguín (1943–1995) was a well-known painter, his younger son Antonio Caballero Holguín (* 1945) is a writer, journalist and caricaturist who deals with the rapid growth of Bogotá in his novel Sin remedio (1984).
