Eduardo Maturana

Eduardo Maturana (born April 14, 1920 in Valparaíso , † 2003 in Santiago de Chile ) was a Chilean composer.

Maturana was a student of Pedro Humberto Allende Sarón and Armando Carvajal Quirós at the Conservatory of Santiago de Chile . He campaigned for the promotion of modern music and founded the group Tonus with Estéban Eitler . Since 1958 he has been a violist with the Philharmonic Orchestra of Santiago. In addition to symphonic works, he composed a. a. a horn concerto, elegies for cello and orchestra, chamber music works, piano works, arias, a cantata and songs.
